The industrial production of monosilanes MenSiCl4−n (n=1–3) through the Müller–Rochow Direct Process generates disilanes MenSi2Cl6−n (n=2–6) as unwanted byproducts (“Direct Process Residue”, DPR) by the thousands of tons annually, large quantities of which are usually disposed of by incineration. Herein we report a surprisingly facile and highly effective protocol for conversion of the DPR: hydrogenation with complex metal hydrides followed by Si−Si bond cleavage with HCl/ether solutions gives (mostly bifunctional) monosilanes in excellent yields. The biodegradation of compounds with C−F bonds is challenging due to the fact that these bonds are stronger than the C−H bond in methane. In this work, results on the unprecedented reactivity of a biomimetic model complex that contains an N-bridged diiron-phthalocyanine are presented; this model complex is shown to react with perfluorinated arenes under addition of H2O2 effectively. To get mechanistic insight into this unusual reactivity, detailed density functional theory calculations on the mechanism of C6F6 activation by an iron(IV)-oxo active species of the N-bridged diiron phthalocyanine system were performed. Our studies show that the reaction proceeds through a rate-determining electrophilic C−O addition reaction followed by a 1,2-fluoride shift to give the ketone product, which can further rearrange to the phenol. A thermochemical analysis shows that the weakest C−F bond is the aliphatic C−F bond in the ketone intermediate. The oxidative defluorination of perfluoroaromatics is demonstrated to proceed through a completely different mechanism compared to that of aromatic C−H hydroxylation by iron(IV)-oxo intermediates such as cytochrome P450 Compound I. 相似文献

A known trinuclear structure was used to design the heterobimetallic mixed-valent, mixed-ligand molecule [CoII(hfac)3−Na−CoIII(acac)3] ( 1 ). This was used as a template structure to develop heterotrimetallic molecules [CoII(hfac)3−Na−FeIII(acac)3] ( 2 ) and [NiII(hfac)3−Na−CoIII(acac)3] ( 3 ) via isovalent site-specific substitution at either of the cobalt positions. Diffraction methods, synchrotron resonant diffraction, and multiple-wavelength anomalous diffraction were applied beyond simple structural investigation to provide an unambiguous assignment of the positions and oxidation states for the periodic table neighbors in the heterometallic assemblies. Molecules of 2 and 3 are true heterotrimetallic rather than a statistical mixture of two heterobimetallic counterparts. Trinuclear platform 1 exhibits flexibility in accommodating a variety of di- and trivalent metals, which can be further utilized in the design of molecular precursors for the NaMM′O4 functional oxide materials. 相似文献

Previous studies of different solvates of 2-methylpyridyllithium (2-picolyllithium) have uncovered electronic structures corresponding to aza-allyl and enamido resonance forms of the metallated pyridine-based compounds. Here, we report the synthesis and characterization of [2-CH2Li(THF)2C5H4N], a new THF solvate. X-ray crystallographic studies reveal a dimeric arrangement featuring a non-planar eight-membered [NCCLi]2 ring, in which the primary cation-anion interaction is between the central Li atom and the C atom of the deprotonated methyl group [length, 2.285(2) Å], suggesting a new carbanionic resonance structure for this 2-picolyllithium series. The significant carbanionic character of [2-CH2Li(THF)2C5H4N] was confirmed by gas-phase DFT calculations [B3LYP/6-311+G(d)] with the calculated electron density interrogated by means of quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) and natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses. For comparison these computational analyses were also performed on the literature structures of [2-CH2Li(2-Picoline)C5H4N] and [2-CH2Li(PMDETA)C5H4N]. In a reactivity study, [2-CH2Li(THF)2C5H4N] was found to undergo nucleophilic addition to pyridine to generate dipyridylmethane in a good yield. 相似文献

Solar radiation is a versatile source of energy, convertible to different forms of power. A direct path to exploit it is the generation of heat, for applications including passive building heating, but it can also drive secondary energy-conversion steps. We present a novel concept for a hybrid material which is both strongly photo-absorbing and with superior characteristics for the insulation of heat. The combination of that two properties is rather unique, and make this material an optical superheater. To realize such a material, we are combining plasmonic nanoheaters with alumina aerogel. The aerogel has the double function of providing structural support for plasmonic nanocrystals, which serve as nanoheaters, and reducing the diffusion rate of the heat generated by them, resulting in large local temperature increases under a relatively low radiation intensity. Electronic structure and spin-related properties of CoI2/NiI2 heterostructure were studied by means of density functional theory. It was shown that the electronic structure at the Fermi level can be characterized by a band gap. The effect of the external electric field on charge transfer and electronic properties of the CoI2/NiI2 interface was investigated, and it was found that band gap width depends on the strength of the applied electric field, switching its nature from semiconducting to a half-metallic one. An easy control of the electronic properties and promising spin-polarized nature of the CoI2/NiI2 spinterface allows the heterostructure to be used in spin-related applications. 相似文献

Solid-state 19F NMR is a powerful method to study the interactions of biologically active peptides with membranes. So far, in labelled peptides, the 19F-reporter group has always been installed on the side chain of an amino acid. Given the fact that monofluoroalkenes are non-hydrolyzable peptide bond mimics, we have synthesized a monofluoroalkene-based dipeptide isostere, Val-Ψ[(Z)-CF=CH]-Gly, and inserted it in the sequence of two well-studied antimicrobial peptides: PGLa and (KIGAKI)3 are representatives of an α-helix and a β-sheet.
